Excursions in the beautiful Pesaro countryside.

In the magical Pesaro area, moving up from the sea you can admire medieval villages, perched on the hills of the Marches, where history and tradition are nestled in an unspoiled nature.

Moving then towards the Romagna, you can visit San Marino, an independent state on the border with Italy with an ancient story full of legends, interesting places to visit and entertainment occasions: sporting events, museums, exhibitions, concerts and medieval re-enactments in its beautiful castles that attract many visitors every year.

Further to north you arrive to San Leo, the ancient capital city of Montefeltro County, famous for hosting Dante and San Francesco d’Assisi. The Count of Cagliostro and Felice Orsini were imprisoned in the fort of this small village.

Noteworthy are also the pre-Romanesque Pieve, the Cathedral, the Fort and the Museum of Sacred Art. Downwards again to the Marche a few miles away from Pesaro is the legendary village of Gradara beloved by Dante and lovers, theater of the Dante’s story of Paolo and Francesca, two lovers hindered by fate and duties.

The view from the beautiful Castle, the interesting museums, the Medieval re-enactments, the themed events in summer and winter, the romantic paths and the excellent restaurants will be the ingredients of your visit to Gradara.

Continuing a few kilometers to the south, after Pesaro, you will arrive to Fano, famous for the oldest Italian carnival. The city has Roman origins, its symbol is in fact the Arch of Augustus which was the gateway to the Roman Colonia Julia Fanestris.
